A lot of the syllabus for the IAMI Nav & Radar module is likely to be unfamiliar to many yachties, especially those doing the OOW-level course. It is a very broad syllabus, covering everything from chartwork and tides, to bridge equipment and COLREGs.

  • What does your eLearning cover?

    The Nav & Radar syllabus is broad but we offer a selection of engaging eLearning modules to help you cover it. We recommend our COLREGs and Buoyage Virtual Trainers as well as our modules on Bridge Equipment and Navigation & Passage Planning.

  • What do people keep referring to it as ‘interactive’?

    Because it is! Our COLREGs and Buoyage courses are the most engaging and interactive eLearning products out there. No long, boring videos of some guy’s desk, no lowest-common-denominator multiple choice questions; just a really deep dive into the content with simple, practical explanations and a tonne of different ways of testing yourself.

  • Can I have access for a shorter or longer term?

    Everything that we do is flexible to fit around your needs, so if you need access to our content for a week or a year, just ask and we’ll sort out a special deal just for you.

  • Is your eLearning up to date?

    One of the most frustrating things about buying prep materials is finding something that’s out of date or incorrect because it then makes you wonder what else is wrong and you start losing trust in the product. That’s one reason we designed our eLearning around text, images and interactive elements, rather than long videos which are really hard to update.

    We carefully monitor regulatory changes and are always making tweaks to keep it up to date and to generally make it better and better. But if you do find something that seems off, we’ll clarify the correct answer for you and make an update right away. We also publish our update log for each module, so you can see what changes have been made.

  • Is there app?

    Yes, our eLearning content is based on a hybrid learning platform, which means that it can be accessed on a computer or a mobile device. You just need to download the "TalentLMS" app. Then, enter domain "learn-whitehorse.talentlms.com", and then your log in details. You will need to sign up to the learning platform on a computer first though and you can’t make purchases through the app.

  • Can I access the eLearning offline?

    Of course! Our app (see above) enables all of our eLearning to be downloaded and accessed while offline. Once you reconnect, your progress will synchronise automatically.
