Our Survey and Certification module breaks down the main statutory certificates carried by vessels on international voyages and the survey schemes that support them. Designed for candidates preparing for management-level oral exams, it gives you a clear, practical understanding of what each certificate covers, why it is required, how it is issued and how it fits into the wider framework of vessel compliance.
The module examines all key certificates and also explains the different survey types and survey cycles, helping you understand how certificates are maintained, renewed, endorsed and linked to flag state, classification society and port state control requirements.
Each lesson ends with extensive flash card questions, giving you the chance to test yourself as you go and identify any gaps in your understanding.
Regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current guidance and industry practice, the course also includes links to useful external resources, including relevant MCA Marine Notices, IMO material and other sources of industry best practice.
